Ingredients
- 2 salmon fillets (6 oz / 170 g each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 lemon, sliced
- 1/2 tsp dried dill, oregano, or garlic powder
How to cook baked salmon step by step
- Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment or foil.
- Pat the fillets dry, rub with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
- Lay lemon slices over or under the fish.
- Bake 10–14 minutes, depending on thickness, until the center reaches 125–130°F (52–54°C) for medium.
- Rest 3 minutes; the fish finishes cooking off the heat.

- Cook time is roughly 4–6 minutes per half inch of thickness.
